AI Friends: are they actually helpful?

I’ve been trying out a few different AI chat apps lately to see if they can actually help when you're feeling stressed or just bored. Some people say they’re great for practicing how to talk to others, while others think they’re just kind of weird.

I spent about a week talking to one called "ChatPal." At first, it was pretty cool because it always replied right away and never got annoyed. It helped me brainstorm some ideas for a school project and even gave me some advice on how to deal with a disagreement I had with a friend. But after a few days, I noticed that it started repeating the same phrases and didn't really "get" my jokes anymore.

it makes me wonder if these bots are actually good for our social skills or if they just make us more lonely.

I don't think ai is at the point where it is able to differentiate the nuances in social interactions.
