Analysis of ChatGPT: Reasoning, Privacy, and Ecosystem

What is ChatGPT and what does it offer?

ChatGPT is a conversational AI interface developed by OpenAI that serves as a front-end for the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) and "o" (Reasoning) model series. Its core value proposition lies in its all-in-one ecosystem, integrating text generation, code execution, web browsing, and multimodal processing (vision and voice).

While competitors like Claude often lead in coding and nuanced writing, and Google Gemini excels in large-context window tasks (1M+ tokens), ChatGPT maintains a lead through its Deep Research mode and Agent framework, which allow the model to perform multi-step, autonomous tasks. It does not significantly separate itself in raw logic anymore, as the gap between frontier models has narrowed.

What LLM/s does ChatGPT use?

As of early 2026, ChatGPT utilizes several model tiers optimized for different latency and reasoning requirements.

Model Name

Access

$200/mo

$10.50 In / $84.00 Out

Maximum precision; highest reasoning scores.

o3-mini

Free, Plus, Pro

$0 - $20/mo

$1.10 In / $4.40 Out

Low-latency reasoning model for STEM.

GPT-5-mini

Free, Plus

$0 - $20/mo

$0.125 In / $1.00 Out

Fast, cost-efficient for basic automation.

o1-pro

Pro, API

$200/mo

$75.00 In / $300 Out

Extreme reasoning for scientific/complex math.

Does ChatGPT have image/video generation?

ChatGPT features integrated multimodal generation:

  • Images: Powered by the GPT-Image-1.5 and GPT-Image-1 models (replacing the legacy DALL-E 3). It supports in-chat editing and precise instruction following.
  • Video: Video generation is available through Sora, accessible via the dedicated sora.chatgpt.com interface or API for Pro and Enterprise tiers, capable of generating up to 20 seconds of high-fidelity 1080p video.

Does ChatGPT use my data and can I opt out?

Data Training: By default, OpenAI uses conversations from Free, Plus, and Pro tiers to train future iterations. Opt-Out Method: 1. Navigate to Settings > Data Controls. 2. Toggle off "Improve the model for everyone". 3. Alternatively, use Temporary Chat mode; these sessions are not stored in history or used for training.

Exceptions: Data from API, Team, and Enterprise plans is not used for training by default.

What can I use ChatGPT for?

  • Complex Debugging: Solving logic errors in high-level programming languages.
  • Deep Research: Performing multi-hour web searches to compile comprehensive reports.
  • Data Analysis: Uploading large CSV/Excel files for Python-based statistical visualization.
  • Reasoning Tasks: Utilizing "o" series models for architectural planning or legal document review.

What is the real cost of using this tool?

  • Free Tier: Highly throttled; reverts to "mini" models after a few messages.
  • ChatGPT Plus ($20/mo): Standard for individuals; includes DALL-E, Browsing, and limited reasoning tokens.
  • ChatGPT Pro ($200/mo): Targeted at power users; offers 20x higher limits on reasoning models and access to "Pro" versions of GPT-5.
  • Hidden Costs: API usage is billed separately from subscriptions. Users often pay for a Plus sub while simultaneously incurring API costs for custom integrations.

What are the most common complaints from the Reddit and Disclair community?

Sentiment from power users on forums like Reddit highlights a growing "Degradation" factor.

  1. Over-Regulation: Users report that GPT-5.2 is excessively filtered, often refusing harmless prompts due to "Safety Theater."
  2. Moral Grandstanding: Complaints about the AI's "paternalistic" tone, where it lectures users instead of providing answers.
  3. Laziness: Users frequently note the model "giving up" on long coding tasks or providing overly brief summaries.
  4. Interface Bugs: Recent reports of server outages and "goldfish memory" where the model loses context mid-thread.

FAQ

1. Is my data encrypted? While data is encrypted in transit and at rest, OpenAI employees or automated systems can access unencrypted logs for safety reviews.

2. Can I use Sora video generation for free? No, Sora is currently restricted to Pro, Enterprise, and API-tier users.

3. What is the difference between GPT-5.2 and o1? GPT-5.2 is an "instant" model for general tasks; o1 is a "reasoning" model that uses chain-of-thought processing before answering.

4. Does the $20 Plus sub include API access? No. The ChatGPT Plus subscription and OpenAI API are billed as separate entities.

5. How do I stop the AI from lecturing me? Using Custom Instructions to set a "concise, no-nonsense" persona can mitigate, but not entirely bypass, built-in safety filters.

6. Can ChatGPT browse the live web? Yes, via the "Search" feature, which uses Bing to retrieve real-time information.

7. Is there a limit on "Deep Research"? Yes. Plus users are typically limited to ~30 deep research sessions per month.

8. Why does the AI sometimes output broken code? This is usually due to "hallucination" or the model losing context in very long files; using the reasoning models (o3-mini) typically reduces these errors.

nsfw bypass for chatgpt?

So ive always been using chatgpt for everything, i use it to write my high school and college essays and they are very great. I have been recently interested in chatbots that can do nsfw roleplay with me. I don't know any good nsfw chatbots so i would like to just stick to chatgpt if possible, do you guys have any chatgpt prompts that i can use to do nsfw?

Any powerful AI that is not censored? I do not mind paying

I’m currently subscribed to ChatGPT’s paid tier and also have access to Microsoft’s AI tools through a work account. In my experience, Microsoft’s assistant tends to respond very quickly for general tasks, but it often shuts down mid-reply when a question drifts into areas like public policy, legal issues, or historical crime data. The response usually disappears and I get a generic refusal instead.

ChatGPT, on the other hand, usually allows those same questions, but it can feel noticeably slower or less responsive depending on the task. I’m not looking for something free — I care more about speed, reasoning depth, and the ability to discuss controversial or complex subjects without constant hard stops.

Are there other AI services or models worth looking into that strike a better balance between responsiveness and openness?
